LEADERSHIP

Founder and Principal
Erik "Rick" Kjellberg

Rick Kjellberg is a financial and operational executive with a career built at the intersection of energy, capital, and complex operations. He founded ATLARMOR to bring genuine domain expertise — not just advisory credentials — to the companies at the frontier of the energy transition.

His background is deliberately cross-sector. He began as a U.S. Air Force officer and instructor pilot, flying sensitive missions supporting Cabinet Secretaries and Members of Congress in environments where judgment under pressure and leadership without a script were baseline requirements. He then spent a decade in financial and operational roles in private markets: as a derivatives and debt management consultant at Chatham Financial, as an operational and financial executive at Ogin Energy (a venture-backed wind equipment manufacturer), and leading the FP&A team at NEXT, Samsung's venture arm. Most recently he has served as a Consulting/Fractional/Interim CFO with Burkland Associates, providing financial and operational leadership to multiple growth-stage companies.

Rick holds a Wharton MBA and a Harvard Kennedy School MPA in Energy Policy — a combination that reflects a deliberate bet on where the most consequential financial and operational problems would emerge. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy with a BS in Astronautical Engineering, and holds an MSA in Information Resource Management from Central Michigan University.

ATLARMOR's engagements reflect the same intentionality: finance and operations, not one or the other; cleantech and energy transition, specifically; growth-stage companies, where decisions made in the first years determine whether a company survives long enough to matter.
